Pulteney 431, often referred to as 'The Club' or '431', has been operating continuously in Adelaide for over 45 years, catering to the gay, bisexual and bi-curious male community as a safe and friendly haven to relax and enjoy the club's facilities whilst meeting other like-minded men. The Club opened on 7 October 1977 and is therefore one of Australia's longest-serving venues for the gay and bisexual community. It has always been the aim of the owners and management to provide a venue in which men can meet other men of diverse sexuality, cultures, age and stature in a non-threatening environment, whilst promoting safe on-site sexual practices.
