- Kenosha is served by Metra's Union Pacific North line, with direct trains from Chicago's Ogilvie Transportation Center — no car needed.
- The city sits in the Central Time Zone (UTC−6 in winter, UTC−5 in summer), the same as Chicago and Milwaukee.
- Kenosha's compact downtown is highly walkable, and most points of interest — including the lakefront — are within a short stroll of each other.

The gay scene in Kenosha
Kenosha's gay scene is low-key and unpretentious — think neighbourhood familiarity rather than a defined gay quarter. The city's LGBTQ+ social life has historically centred on a handful of long-standing local institutions rather than a concentrated strip, which gives the overall atmosphere a community-pub feel rather than a high-energy cruise circuit.
That said, Kenosha punches above its weight in one respect: it is home to one of the oldest surviving steambaths in the Midwest, a genuine piece of bathhouse history. Visitors tend to be a mix of locals and day-trippers from Chicago and Milwaukee. Weekends naturally see more foot traffic, and summer months — when lakefront activity peaks — bring the most visitors to the city overall.
