The gay scene in Frankfurt am Main
Frankfurt's gay quarter is centred on the **Sachsenhausen** district and the streets around **Konstablerwache** in the city centre — you'll find bars, cafés and cruising venues within easy reach of both. The scene has a relaxed, social feel on weekdays (boosted by business visitors and finance professionals passing through) and ramps up noticeably at weekends, when locals come out in force.
The city's **Christopher Street Day (CSD)** parade, held each July, is one of the larger Pride events in the Rhine-Main region and draws visitors from across Germany. Winter sees a quieter but no less welcoming scene, and the indoor sauna culture really comes into its own during the colder months. Frankfurt men tend to be direct and unpretentious — there's little attitude in the venues here.
